The main problem that I'm having is that the catapults are killing off enough of my units (even mounted warriors) before I can kill them and then have the remaining units left to deal with the mercenaries and armored infantry.
I need to beat these to unlock the bonus quest line and I'm hoping to complete this goal while in the Iron Age and only fighting. I'm struggling with my first real hurdle against two battles: one has five mercenaries and three catapults and the other has two mercenaries, two armored infantry, and four catapults. Currently, my only attack bonus is from a 5th level Statue of Zeus. If I'm understanding the bonus quest line correctly, I'll need to unlock two technologies for it, so I've yet to unlock ballistas and legionnaires. I have a mix of eight mercenaries, eight archers, and eight mounted warriors. I've only recently advanced to the Iron Age, so I'm expecting this to take awhile.
